No snap. No guessing. No hiding under the bed.
- You stop guessing where to stop: it takes a thin layer off at a time, so you can look at the nail, check, and go again.
- The cap does the aiming for you: the guard has three openings, and the one you choose sets how much nail can reach the wheel.
- Three hours of running to a charge: it takes a USB cable, so a laptop, a power bank or a phone plug all put it back.
- Cut for small and medium dogs: it is sized and powered for a Yorkie, a Frenchie, a Beagle or a Cocker Spaniel, and a Rottweiler's nails want something heavier.
- Your dog can sit through it: a low-noise motor with very little vibration, so there is no snap and nothing to brace against.
Grinding is a different action from cutting
Clippers close on the nail and take the whole piece in one go. The decision is made before you can see the result, and the guess is built into the tool.
A spinning wheel takes off a thin layer at a time. Nothing happens faster than you can watch, so you go a little, look, and go a little more.
You hear the difference before you see it
Nails that have been ground finish rounded rather than square. There is no flat edge left to catch on a blanket and no sharp corner to snag a jumper.
The other thing that goes is the clicking down the hallway at six in the morning. That sound is the one that tells you the nails were due a fortnight ago.
The moment the clippers come out
Your dog knows what that shape means. They have seen it before, and they leave the room before you have sat down.
This one looks like a pen and sounds like a hum. Let your companion sniff it while it is running, do one nail, hand over something good, and stop there for the first day.
Questions
How loud is it?
A low hum rather than a whine, and the vibration through the handle is slight. Most dogs settle within the first session once they work out that nothing is pinching.
Run it in your hand across the room before it goes near a paw. A dog who has heard it for a minute is a different dog to one meeting it on the foot.
Which dogs is it made for?
Small and medium breeds. A Chihuahua, a Yorkshire Terrier, a Frenchie, a Beagle, a Border Terrier or a Cocker Spaniel are all comfortably within what it is built to do, and the two smaller ports in the guard are sized for exactly those nails.
On a large breed with thick nails, a Rottweiler or a Great Dane, it is slower going than it should be. That is a job for a heavier grinder.
How do I actually use it?
Pick the port that suits the nail, hold the paw, and bring the wheel in at roughly a 45 degree angle to round the tip rather than flatten it.
Work in bursts of no more than five seconds on any one nail, then lift off and look. Short bursts keep the nail from warming up and give you a chance to see how far you have got.
How do I clean the grinding wheel?
The wheel pulls out of the head, so you can take it off and clear the dust from the grit. A pencil eraser held lightly against it while it turns lifts the worst of it, then wipe it with a tissue.
Doing that every few sessions keeps it cutting at full speed. A clogged wheel is slow rather than broken.
How long does the battery last?
Three hours of continuous running from a two-hour charge, and a full set of nails takes a few minutes. In practice you charge it every couple of months.
A small light on the body tells you it is charging. The cable plugs into any USB socket and the cap goes back on the head for the drawer.

I had three items in the package i received today. the package was completely smashed when i got it outta the mailbox. luckily none of the items were damaged enough to where they didn't work but i will say the packaging could be a lot better. wasn't satisfied at all.
This is a great nail grinder! 2 speeds, extremely quiet! very fine grinding stone, good for small dogs and cats. the light is also quite bright and useful. usb charger is great, no need for batteries!
The box was crushed, but the product itself seems to be in good condition!
Bought it for a parrot. It operates quietly at both speed 1 and speed 2. Operates on battery power or by charging. Protective cover included. Good abrasive stone.
