How a wet vest cools a dog

Is it made for small dogs or bigger ones?

Both. Six sizes run from a 30cm chest up to 110cm, so a Yorkshire Terrier, a Cocker Spaniel and a German Shepherd all have a size in the range.

Back lengths go from 28cm at S to 67cm at 3XL, so the panel covers the same proportion of the dog whichever end you are at.

How do I pick the right size?

Measure around the chest just behind the front legs and match that number, not your dog's weight. The chest is what the side buckle sets, so it is the measurement that decides the fit.

S covers a 30 to 48cm chest with a 28cm back. The range climbs to 84 to 110cm and a 67cm back at 3XL. A snug fit works better than a loose one here, because the damp fabric needs to be touching your dog to do anything.

How long does it stay cool for?

As long as it stays damp. Hot dry air dries it faster, still humid air dries it slower, and a breeze speeds the whole thing up.

For a short walk one soak is the lot. For a long afternoon out, take water and wet it again when the back panel goes dry. It takes seconds and there is nothing to wait for.

Can I clip the leash straight to it?

Yes. Two metal D-rings sit side by side on the back, on webbing that runs the length of the neckline, so the pull goes into the whole back panel rather than one stitched patch.

Tighten the side strap so you can slide two fingers under it. The buckle holds that setting between walks.
